Smart Reader is a complete OMR solution for any educational institute. It is an alternative to costly OMR scanners. It uses any normal scanner to check the answer sheet. The answer sheet used is any normal paper, so it is very cost effective and 100% accurate.

Scanner Requirement
Any normal scanner can be used with the following specifications
1. Scanning in Black and White mode
2. Scanning at 100 dpi
3. Facility to drop out color red, green and blue
4. File format in JPG or BMP

Sheet Specification
Thickness of paper:
The sheet must be thick enough to hold paper straight and the mark of one side should not affect the other side.

Dimension of sheet:
The dimension of the sheet depends upon the scanner; the capacity of the scanner is the ultimate limit of the dimension of sheet.

Designing:
a. The sheet must contain the rectangular mark on any side of the sheet i.e. either on right or left side of the sheet.
b. The circles in the sheet must aligned top with the rectangles printed on the sheet.
c. The sheet must use one color (red, green, blue) for designing. Black can also be used with the selected color of your choice.

Printing:
Any type of printing can work, but the printing must be clear and symmetrical.

Template Creation
You have to create a template before checking any sheet. Once you have created the template you can check any number of copies similar to the template. You can create any number of templates in the software.

Checking Sheets
First you have to scan the sheets, save the sheets in the folder as required by you. After creating the template you can check the sheets into batch. You can give command for checking multiple folders.

Backend Used or Database Used
The software uses MS-Access 2000 as the backend to store data fetched from the sheets. MS-Access is capable of exporting data to any desired form of your choice like Excel files or dbf files etc.

Data Export
The data can be exported to MS-Excel or Text files.
